Twitter Addiction

Hello, my name is @juliepbooks. And I have a problem. (Imagine a dark room, with only a small white taper candle held in my hands illuminating my face.)

Okay. So it’s not that serious, but I sure do love Twitter. When I first joined a few years ago, I did so just to see what was happening in the world of New Kids On The Block, now that they’d made their comeback and it didn’t seem to me like they were going anywhere. So, I hung on every word and was there for every show, every appearance, everything. I knew everything about them. But then, I guess I decided I wanted my life back,  deleted my account, and put my laptop down.

Check out who’s following me on Twitter! Woo woo! I tweeted
@jordanknight Just listened to #upanddown I’m wide awake
now & ready to teach a bunch of high school kids. Wait
gonna listen again #itsthatgood. He tweeted back
@juliepbooks got you!
And yes he did, he followed me. I think I may have squealed
a bit when I got the message in my inbox.

Two years later, here I am back on Twitter. But now, I have a Smartphone. Amen. Love this thing, and when I kick the bucket someday, I feel sorry for the person who will have to pry it out of my old rigid hands. I suspect I will have arthritis or carpel tunnel or some other debilitating problem with my hands by the time I’m forty because of all the Swyping I’m doing, or just from holding the dang thing.

Back to Twitter. I’m on. It’s fun. I love to read. This is just another form of reading, right? A bunch of short little stories. If we strung a million tweets together, we could have a best selling novel, I’m sure. So let me explain the fascination. People are fascinating. Yes, even people I don’t know and who I’ll probably never meet. It’s just another form of pure entertainment. Some people complain everyone is just too damn accessible and it’s annoying. I disagree. I think it’s fun.

Since it’s #followfriday or #ff, I thought I’d share my TOP Five Tweeps to follow. Yeah, I know Friday is over in many time zones, but I still have a little less than an hour.

@MellyJHart
AKA: Melissa Joan Hart. She is one hysterically funny person. I’m in love with her family and wish I could be an honary member. She has a big family and they are always chatting back and forth to one another, often talking shit and having a good time. Reminds me of my own. I think a TV show should be made out of their fam. Maybe … The Harts of Life, Every Beat of My Hart, Hart Attack. Lol. I don’t know. But whatever it is, the show would be a hit.

@DonnieWahlberg
AKA: Donnie Walhberg. DDub, Danny Reagan, Tony Spalleli. Ok, don’t say it. I know, I know. He’s a New Kid. But … he should also me a freaking motivational speaker. His tweets can get you off your ass and accomplishing something. His tweets can turn a day from hell into a ray of bleeping sunshine in a matter of seconds. His tweets can turn your frown upside down. His tweets can also make you blush sometimes. And the TwitVids or the TwitPics. Um hmm. All must sees. Do it. Follow him.

@Ochocinco
AKA: Chad Johnson. Or Pepe. I’m not even a Patriot fan. Not even a Bengal’s fan either. I’m all about the Dallas Cowboys. But Ocho is funny. He is oddly interesting. He has many personalities. I wish I owned a Prius so I could join his gang. His girlfriend is beautiful and their tweets to each other are super funny. Love the banter. In his tweets, Ocho comes off like just a regular guy, someone who’d come over for a BBQ, play some poker, and talk crap all night. I’d love to meet him, chill in some camo paints, cruise around in the red Prius looking for a Starbucks, and call him Pepe. This guy is too funny. Check out his avi. OMG.

@JoJoWright
AKA: JoJo Wright. JoJo on the Radio. And in case you haven’t heard. He’s famous. He is also a Cowboys fan. And he doesn’t ever sleep. He’s the president of the Twitter insomnia club. Ok, really, he’s not. But if there was a club, he’d own it. His tweets are funny, and what I like most is … he often responds to you. Whether it’s Twitter or Facebook, if you comment on something he says, he will comment back. Not every time, but more so than other people, that’s for sure. I’d like to see him do some of the crazy crap he sends his KIIS team out to do. And by the way, I’ve talked to him on the radio. :) (P.S. I talked to DDub too on KIIS, but lost reception…I almost threw my phone out the window of the third floor.)

@MarieForce
AKA: Marie Force. :) Marie is a romance novelist and the most friendly author I’ve ever tweeted with or facebooked with. Her books are amazing. I think I’ve read them all. And I’m anxiously and impatiently awaiting for the next installments in two different series. I just love how she responds to her readers. She’s always positive. You never read complaints about her readers on her sites, like I have on other author pages (cringe). And she’s always doing something to get readers involved. Contests, book giveaways, book clubs. What a great inspiration for a writer such as myself, and a wonderful example to follow.

Another thing I love to do on Twitter is live tweeting. I’m such a dork, I know. But I can’t help it. On Monday’s, you can catch me live tweeting during The Secret Life of American Teenager (#secretlife). @therealfrancia and @ifollowallen are great people to follow from the show. @therealfrancia responded to me once. :)

On Thursdays, I join the #rookieblueparty for Rookie Blue, along with @EricJJohnson76. He started the party and I actually watch the show with commercials (gasp) just so I can get in on the fun. The week he cheated on the show was funny with all the hate tweets Luke was getting.

Ok…I better get off this thing before my Follow Friday Twitter Post ends up getting posted on Saturday. :)

See ya.
Word.
